Background / Summer 2008.

We are a continuation of the No Boundaries program sponsored by Fleet Feet Sports in the spring of 2008. During the summer of 2008, Team Sakina meets weekly and any woman who is able to run 5 or 6 miles is welcome to join. The group meets Wednesday nights at 6:30 at different locations with a focus on “intensity” workouts such as hills, intervals and tempo. The practices and coaching are free with a requested donation per season to go towards projects in our partner community of Sakina, Tanzania. Currently donations are being directed towards shipping costs of the Sustain Foundation’s shoe donation program. Amy Wollish and Kerry Brewer are our coaches and there are currently about 20 members. The summer season will last 9 weeks. Specific details for each week’s workout will be posted on www.sustainfoundation.org under “Team Sakina” by the day before practice and will be to our mailing list. Contact Amy Wollish (wollish@email.unc.edu) to be added to the mailing list. It may be hot, and we may run hard, but we always have a good time.
