Team Sakina is a women's running group in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, NC. For the fall of 2008 we will be comprised of the “Intermediate” and “Advanced” groups of No Boundaries Women’s Training Program through Fleet Feet Sports. Our goal is to provide a venue for strong, motivated women to gather once a week to have fun while running hard and for a purpose. We aim to improve physical and mental strength while supporting a less fortunate community in Sakina, Tanzania through our donations and efforts.

News and Updates

8/19- Online registration for Team Sakina is closed but stop by Fleet Feet between now and 8/28 to register.

8/21 - We just had our participant orientation meeting. Thanks to everyone for coming. If you didn't make it, feel free to contact us if you have any question. Look for more information next Tuesday by email and on the website about our first practice on 8/28. Directions to the UNC track will be included.

8/26- Look under Week 1 to read about the details of our first practice and get directions to the UNC track. See everyone Thursday :)

9/3- Team Sakina is off to a great start after Week 1 of practice. Click on Week 2 for details about this week.

9/9- Please note changes to each groups page that makes accessing the workout and weekly schedule easier. Week 3 email now posted.

9/23- Old Reliable Run registration is now up. Click here to register

9/30- Extra Team Sakina shirts now for sale. Available each Thursday night at practice for 30 dollars. Cash or check made out to Fleet Feet Sports.

10/20- At this week's practice we'll talk about plans for race day (less than a month away!) and be getting team photos taken. Please wear your Team Sakina shirt if you have one.

10/28- Come out to practice this week for our seminar on the "psychology of running" led by UNC Head Sports Psychologist Dr. Bradley Hack.

11/16- Our goal race was a huge success with around 50 people running. Congratulations to everyone for such a successful culmination of a great season
