Summer Season

Team Sakina is running twice a week for 10 weeks on the trails of Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Collectively we are trying to run the nautical miles to Sakina, Tanzania in support of our sister community. We hope to raise $1 for each mile we run.

Intro.

Team Sakina is a women's running group in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, NC. The goal of Team Sakina is to supply women with the knowledge and skills to become healthier individuals in body, mind and spirit. The Team Sakina training program brings like-minded women together in a group setting thus forming a “community” of women who meet each week to work hard, socialize and grow together forming lasting relationships around a common interest in being healthy and active.

In exchange for the knowledge, skills and opportunity to be part of a local women’s running community Team Sakina participants give something back. All program fees from each season are donated to educational and health initiatives in Sakina, Tanzania.
